About Your Last Math Tutor
Hello there!
I am a California native who is passionate about education. Being the first in my family to graduate both high school and college has come with a lot of knowledge and skills gained. I am eager to help others with the skills I have honed over the years.
Wondering why I became a tutor?
My passion for helping others has its roots in the way my parents raised me. If I can help, I will do so. I have always had a natural inclination towards teaching others, and my natural liking of math helped put two and two together.
The Beginning

Your Last Tutor was founded by myself, Beatriz, in the suburbs of Riverside and San Diego
counties in California.
From volunteering during early morning math tutoring at my high school to providing personalized support to many students during and after college, I am proud to keep providing much needed support that relieves stress and anxiety for both students and guardians.
I have a passion for seeing the lit-up faces of my students when they gain confidence in
themselves. It’s not only about their academics but helping my students improve their self-
worth.
I am always excited at the prospect of helping yet another student give math learning another go. I give priority to students who are motivated to improve.
Mission
Life is full of surprises as we all know. Having witnessed many different unfortunate life circumstances amongst my family members, I have seen first-hand how the ability to teach oneself something new can change a person’s life. With my students, I deal with math formulas, but the teaching results don’t end there. The skills that my students learn can include knowing how to ask for help, knowing how to find resources for themselves, and knowing how to learn something new when life demands it; I aim to teach my students how to teach themselves.
Your Last Tutor exists to alleviate stress and anxiety for both students who feel distress towards math but more importantly, it exists to comprehensively improve the confidence that my students have in themselves so that they become self-reliant in their math studies. Notice that the mention of improvement of grades is mentioned last. This is because I aim to focus on the root of the struggle, and so grade improvement will come as a positive consequence of my students feeling more confident in their math skills.

My approach
I focus on putting the confidence of my student first. I do this by analyzing the way their brain absorbs and processes information, and then using this information to personalize the way I teach them the content they need. It is also important for me to listen to the needs that my students voice. I always integrate what they are advocating themselves for. I aim to keep these approaches the pillars of my company, as I believe many more students would greatly benefit from this holistic approach. For students who are minors, I also provide a weekly summary for the guardian to have a clear picture of their student’s standing during our session and to get to know some of my more detailed observations about their student’s needs and progress. I believe that encouraging and supportive parents are part of the key to success, so keeping them updated and involved is crucial.
